SkipsYachting, importer of JEANNEAU sailing yachts, has a world première during the HISWA TE WATER exhibition; the JEANNEAU SUN ODYSSEY 409.

The Jeanneau SO 409 is a completely new model and differs from the current Jeanneau models. The Jeanneau SO 409 has been designed by Philippe Briand and Jeanneau Design and has a new hull and interior! The length of this model is 12.34 meters, it has a width of 4.00 metres and the standard keel is 2.10 metres deep.

In interesting option is the revolutionary propulsion system: a sail drive which can turn 360 degrees and that can also be used as a hybrid system (optional). If you chose this option, the sail drive can be turned 180 degrees and the Lothian-Ion batteries will recharge during sailing. Combined with a bow-propeller this yacht is very easy to steer and can even travel side wards by using a joystick.

This system is exclusively designed for the Beneteau / Jeanneau groep and will be fitted in almost all the new models from 36 feet. An extra advantage of the hybrid system is the fact that you will have 230 Volts to your disposal permanently and do not need an expensive generator.

Besides the design and technical changes, the rigging can also be adapted to your personal preferences; from a large 140% genoa that comes with the sporty ‘Performance’ finish to a special turn jib that comes with the tour version. The main clew runs towards the steering position (the same as the German sheeting system). All the halyards and clews will be concealed below the deck.
